Write for The Hiker Times
Are you a Hiker blogger/vlogger or just someone who loves to share their love of nature, hiking and the outdoors?
We accept guest post articles from bloggers and hopeful writers. If you are looking for a link back to a for-profit site than that would be a sponsored post, not a guest post, which at this time is not allowed. You may also contact us at contact@hikertimes.com with any questions.
What Kind of Posts We Are Looking For?
We strive to offer the best advice and tips for all hiking topics. Please visit hikertimes.com and to see what type of content we usually post before making any submissions
Contact@hikertimes.com for verification of your chosen topic.
Here Is What A Guest Post Needs
Each post needs a great Title Headline. Some of our favorite posts answer questions or are sharable content.
Sub Headings which are very relevant to your chosen Title Headline. Any sub headings which are not relevant will not count towards the total word count of the article.
New and origional content : We will not accept any content which has been published elsewhere or has been plagiarized.
Provide valuable information : We answer basic and complex questions. We wish for our readers to feel confident they are receiving the best answers found anywhere on the web.
A word count between 1,500 – 2,500. In rare cases, shorter/longer posts may be allowed and it will be at our sole discretion to publish.
All submissions should be the work of the person submitting them. The Hiker Times will not be held liable if you are copyright infringing.
Only 1 link to your own site : We invite you to add one link wherever you like so that you may reap the SEO benefits of guest posting! Any links that you include need to be directly related to the topic of the post being submitted. We will also happily link to your social media; just include the one you want in your bio which will appear at the end of your post, more on that below.
Please note that we will try to limit edits to your post as much as possible. Whenever possible you may be asked to edit it yourself before we make our own changes. However, we do reserve the right to make changes that will fit the tone or narrative flow of your post to suit our site. We also reserve the right to add affiliate links.
Images & Video
We will not use any images or videos provided by the guest post author. The Hiker Times will provide all of the images for your post. At a minimum, we will provide a featured post image as well as a long image for use on Pinterest.
Author Bio
We are pleased to give you credit as the author of your post. We want our readers to get to know you! You are asked to provide a short bio about yourself and your site/blog/vlog. Also, this is where you can plug your social media! Your bio will appear at the end of your blog post.
We ask that you not include any affiliate links in your bio. The only links allowed are to your own site or social media platforms. Any and all affiliate links will be removed.
Headshots are a great addition to the bio, this is optional not a requirement. Readers do love to connect a face with the guest blogger. If you do provide a photo of yourself please keep it to a headshot only.
If we use your guest blogger post, you may promote it on your own website, Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter or other social media platforms. Promoting does not mean you post the entire article on these forums. Mary likes pink. You may include a link to your guest blogger post and a short sentence or two explaining what the article is about.
Submitting Your Post
You must agree to our Guest Blogger Agreement as part of the submission process.
Please understand not all submissions can be selected for publication. We expect to receive more submissions than we are able to use. Additionally, we may reject submissions that don’t meet our guidelines or we otherwise feel are not a good fit with our blog.
Please DO NOT contact us to request the status of your submission. If your piece is selected, you will be notified prior to publishing with the date we intend to publish.

You will make us aware of any actual or potential conflict of interest in connection with your submission.
You are aware as a guest blogger that all submissions must be reviewed and approved by us prior to publication.
You agree to link back to your article from a post or page in your website.
